Cookie Policy

What this website stores, what only runs if you allow it, and how to change your mind at any time.

Cookie & Tracking Notice

In short: nothing that tracks you runs on this website until you say it can. We ask once, you can refuse with a single click, and refusing costs you nothing, including the contact form, which works exactly the same either way.

This notice is the Cookie Notice referred to in section 5 of our Privacy Policy. Read the two together: the Privacy Policy covers your rights, our legal bases, how long we keep information and how to reach us.

Your choice, and how to change it

When you first arrive we ask whether you are willing to allow two optional categories. Until you answer, neither runs and nothing optional is stored. There is no "by continuing to browse you agree". If you ignore the banner, the answer is no.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Turning a category off removes what it stored and reloads the page so that anything already running stops.

Strictly necessary: always on

These keep the site working and cannot be switched off. They store nothing that identifies you and are not used for analytics or advertising.

  • Anti-spam check on our forms. Before you can send us a message, your browser asks our server for a short-lived token and sends it back with the form. It contains no information about you, is not stored on your device, and exists only for the length of one submission. Without it our contact form would be filled in by automated scripts. This is the only thing that decides whether the form can be sent; your privacy choices do not affect it.
  • Your privacy choice. We store your answer to the banner (d3v.consent) so we do not ask again on every page.
  • Staff sign-in. If you are a member of D3V staff signed in to our content management system, a session cookie keeps you signed in. This does not apply to visitors.

Analytics: only if you allow it

If you accept this category, we record how you use the site. This is stored in your browser, not in a cookie, and is not sent anywhere unless you submit one of our forms.

  • d3v.journey (session storage): the pages you have viewed during this visit and roughly how many seconds each was visible on screen. Time is only counted while the page is actually in front of you, so a tab left open in the background is not recorded as reading time. Erased automatically when you close the tab.
  • d3v.firstTouch (local storage): the first page you arrived on, the website that referred you if there was one, and any campaign parameters in the link you followed (for example utm_source, utm_campaign, or a Google Ads click identifier). Written once and not overwritten afterwards.
  • d3v.visits (local storage): a count of how many separate visits you have made.

We record the page address only. Anything after the ? in a web address is discarded before it is stored, apart from the campaign parameters listed above, because that part of an address can contain search terms or other personal details.

This category also covers Google Analytics, which reports how the site is used overall and sets its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. It does not load at all unless you accept this category.

Marketing: only if you allow it

This category covers HubSpot, the customer relationship system we use to manage enquiries and follow-ups. Its tracking code recognises returning visitors and links their activity to an enquiry, and it sets its own cookies under HubSpot's privacy policy. It does not load at all unless you accept this category.

If we ever add another tool to either category, we will name it here before it goes live.

What happens when you send us a message

If you submit our contact form or request a demo, and you have allowed the analytics category, the information above is attached to your enquiry. It tells us which pages you were reading and how you found us, so the person replying understands what you are interested in before they respond.

If you have not allowed it, your message still sends normally and simply arrives without that context. We will never make answering the banner a condition of contacting us.

Enquiry details are visible only to D3V staff signed in to our content management system. We do not sell them, and we do not share them for advertising. If you would rather we did not keep the browsing information attached to your message, say so in your message or email us using the details below and we will remove it.

How to remove it

The quickest way is the Cookie settings link in the footer; switching a category off deletes what it stored.

You can also clear site data for this website in your browser settings, usually under Privacy, then Cookies and site data, then Manage data. Closing the tab clears the journey on its own. Browsing in a private or incognito window prevents anything being kept after you close the window. The site works normally either way.

How long we keep it

In your browser: the journey lasts until you close the tab; the first-visit record, visit count and your privacy choice remain until you clear your site data or change your settings. Third-party tools keep their own cookies for periods set in their policies, linked above.

Once attached to an enquiry, the information is kept with that enquiry and is covered by the retention terms in section 6 of our Privacy Policy.
