Business Challenge

Slant faced critical scalability and deployment bottlenecks due to its reliance on a localized Replit development environment that lacked production-grade maturity. The monolithic setup suffered from high manual deployment risks and a complete lack of automated mobile build pipelines, limiting Slant’s ability to scale its user base beyond early-stage testing.

Additionally, managing over 15 high-value AI and payment credentials (such as Anthropic and Stripe) via plain-text .env files created a severe security risk of API key exposure. Finally, transitioning away from Replit’s session-based authentication threatened to disrupt their existing user database schema, payments, and access controls.

Solution Provided

D3V Technology Solutions partnered with Slant to engineer a zero-disruption migration to a fully containerized Google Cloud Platform (GCP) architecture, transforming the platform from a “code-first” prototype to an “infrastructure-first” enterprise solution.

The core implementation included:

  • Serverless Compute & Highly Available Data: Deployed Google Cloud Run (Gen2) to handle elastic auto-scaling (from 1 to 50 instances) alongside Google Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL 15) configured with Regional High Availability for automated failover.
  • Zero-Disruption Security & Identity Hardening: Migrated user sessions to Firebase Authentication utilizing a “Just-In-Time” (JIT) data mapping strategy to bind stateless ID tokens to historical records with zero data loss. Centralized 15+ credentials inside GCP Secret Manager for runtime injection and deployed Cloud Armor at the network edge for robust WAF and DDoS protection.
  • Automated Web App Pipelines: Engineered a robust deployment pipeline for the Slant AI web application utilizing GitHub Actions and Google Cloud Build. This setup automates continuous integration, container builds, and secure image deployment directly to Google Container Registry (GCR) for streamlined production releases.
  • Dual-Tool Developer Efficiency: Engineered a custom synchronization protocol between local Claude Code CLI and cloud Replit runtimes to protect developer AI coding velocity without sacrificing production stability.
